A Tamiya mastrepiece
I have been modeling for over 40 years and have assembled hundreds of kits. Tamiya has always been one of my favorite producers. This kit, the M4A3E8 in 1/35 scale is the best Tamiya kit I have ever seen. Some people say it's a rebox. This is far from true. It is a re-tooling (basically a new kit). Tamiya has left the door open so that the modeler can accessorize it to the max if they so desire. One example is the engine compartment. Words do no justice to this kit. It is definitely NOT for a beginner, basically because only an experienced modeler could appreciate it's quality. If you are a Sherman fan,this kit is a must. Watch the youtube videos,but don't listen to the bull about it being a re-box. IT'S NEW TOOLING!

Fantastic blend of detail and ease of construction
In a world of 1000 part kits, Tamiya's new Sherman allows a builder the choice of a weekend project that stands up to other resin and photo-etch mashups or a base for super detail that is user friendly. Although a few details such as solid grab handles, limited decals, and the basic .50 cal scream for attention, the affordable cost and decent crew figures more than offset any liability.

Amazing detail
The detail is hands down amazing to say the least. I have always preferred Tamiya kits since I was 19 years old. Not only is this kit fun but educational too. It helps you learn about how tanks are built and how they work (granted in a rudimentary level, but non the less worth every penny. It will spark your interest in tanks to a higher level, and may have you picking a book or two about armor warfare in World War II. I only wish Tamiya would have provided the T-80 tracks instead of the T-66, a few more accessories would have been nice as well, but as it comes out of the box, you can't go wrong. It has re-sparked my interest in tanks from World War II ! I enjoy this kit very much and would recommend it to anyone.

Tamiya's 1/35 scale U.S. medium tank M4A3E8 Sherman "Easy Eight" was a pleasure to build. This is a mid-level build accurately captures this WWII era icon. Tamiya's parts are highly detailed and beautifully produced. I highly recommend this detailed scale model kit.
