I work on ships so I carry a light every day at work and use it alot and sometimes it gets dropped onto a metal deck. I've carried a Maglite XL50 for about 5 yrs now and it still works like new. I bought this one as a backup. Some lights like these cycle through all the different switch positions no matter how slow you push the button but not this one. The first press of the switch turns it on high every time, the second to med if done quickly after the first, and three quick pressed to get strobe. I recommend the "Police Leather" belt holster (open top) to carry it in but it'll be a little tight till it breaks in, and I JB Welded the belt snap shut. I wouldn't carry it any other way. The switch can come on accidentally pretty easy if it's not carried in a sheath like this, with the switch end down, and I glued a quarter into the bottom of the sheath and now it never comes on accidentally while carrying it or putting it in / taking it out. I've tried many different types of lights and seen others use many different types. This light, in a "Police Leather" sheath, is the best.Read full review

I've been using the Maglite XL50 at work for the last five years or so. I sometimes set it down at work and walk away and forget it (someone is getting a good flashlight for free) or loose it through a hole in my pocket but I always get another one. Best flashlight I ever owned. It's small and light weight and very bright. It's very easy to use with the tail cap switch. I put it in my back pocket and sit down and don't even know I'm sitting on it. I highly recommend it to others.

Excellent flashlight, very bright , not very heavy, and durable. I dropped this flashlight from a height of less than 10 feet. I did not test this flashlights durability at any height more than 10 feet. I dipped into less than 1 foot of water; first cold then hot. I did not measure water temperatures. I would recommend this flashlight for its brightness. Made in the USA.

These are great durable lights . I use them as weapons lights, they fit in a one inch holder . Bought one and tried it on a 12 gauge shotgun and it stood up to the shock .

The best small task light you can get, hands down.
