    Brand product with great performance

Thanks to Black Friday, I jumped on the opportunity of picking two of these. Design wise, the black PCB has that nice and simple design that is clear for the ones wanting something more "simple" and "professional" looking. While some persons criticize the Elpis revision over the older Phoenix version of this unit, the newer control does have some real-world benefits compared to what Phoenix could do. It's important to note that the cache on the Elpis is much, much higher than what Phoenix could handle, generally x3 the amount. The flaw/drawback is mostly that once that's filled up, the Elpis control operates slower than the Phoenix. This could be an issue for some when it comes to larger files, but for anyone else who's more of a regular user this is fine. The TBW on these isn't all ...

  • M.2 drives are a must for video editing

I definitely recommend this M.2 drive for video editing. I use to use the older SSD's but they became to slow for my work flow. This makes the 3rd M.2 2TB drive that I use. I use 2 drives for editing and one for storing B-Roll video. I bought a new ASUS M.2 card that hold up to 4 drives for $56.00. These drives will play back 5.7K 12 bit B-Raw with out any trouble. It will also edit 3 streams of 4K plus PowerPoint with out problems.

  • Easy 4x upgrade

I like the Samsung product because the free Samsung migration tool allowed me to make an image of my old SSD onto the new one (using the USB 3.1 port). When I then installed the new drive, my laptop booted up and ran normally, but now with 4x the storage space I previously had. Painless!

  • Excellent SSD in its category

This is my third Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe solid state drive and comparing it to other SSD it is by far outperforms the other SSD in its category. It is reliable and has not failed on me yet. I purchased 1TB a few years back and upgraded it to 2TB with this purchase. The data migration tool from Samsung makes replacement a breeze.
