Right from the start, the cover gives us examples of the meat, fish, cheese, fruit, vegies and bakery goods you can learn to make. From beginner sculptor through advanced, you will find fun things to add to your miniature displays. The list of items to make is endless. Tarts, pies,breads,fruit cakes and buns,salami,pork pies,cheeses,bacon,chops,poultry,beef,ham lamb joints,sausages, black pudding, potatoes and carrots,mushrooms and tomatoes,apples, turnips,oranges, lemons,cabbages,cauliflowers,beetroot,strawberries,gooseberries,onions,cucumbers,bananas,rhubarb,sweet corn,grapes,prawns, oysters,haddock,fillets, fish bones,kippers,rainbow trout,salmon, crabs lobsters. All these can go into the market stall and display items with instructions for constructing them. Detail recipes with colors for mixing clay is charted for each food. Source information and further reading is at the conclusion of the book. I found the caning techniques particularly helpful for adjusting the size of my sculpture to be as tiny as I wanted it. Each page is full of detailed color enlargements and words of instruction. I can see the artists finger prints as she paints the top of the bun! The food is so realistic it is making me hungry!! I am enjoying reading this book, in amazement how realistic and tiny your sculptures can be. Professional quality, a book I will be using often for sculpture ideas on technique and subject matter. Loved this book. Angie gives tips on how she achieves the most excellent results with polymer techniques from the complicated caning process to the famed Skinner technique. Though the amount of clay needed to achieve these effects is large, the result is overall worthwhile to the person who loves to sculpt realistic dollhouse miniature foods in one inch scale. Angie gives valuable formulas for mixing the polymer clays to achieve the realistic color, and even textures of fruits, meats, and vegetables. Also valuable is an index on locating the tools and materials used by the artist in the book. A wonderful book that not only makes it enjoyable, but fun for the person who collects or creates their own dollhouse miniatures with polymer clay.
