David R. Powers' bio for Making Participatory Management Work: David R. Powers has been executive director of the Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education; executive director of the Minnesota Higher Education Coordinating Board; senior vice chancellor for academic affairs of the West Virginia Board of Regents; vice president for academic affairs at George Mason University; and vice provost at the University of Pittsburgh. He was a founding member of the Board of Governors of the Western Governors University, representing Nebraska. His B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees are in political science from the University of Pittsburgh. Powers' bio for Making Participatory Management Work: Author and editor Mary Ferguson Powers has taught microbiology, headed a university office of research, and served as executive director of two university-business partnership centers. She has a bachelor's degree in bacteriology from The Pennsylvania State University, a master's in experimental psychology from George Mason University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.
