It operates off mobile phone tower locations , so is not very accurate, will only tell you which tower unit is closest to. Poor battery life is another problem with these. Also link that it sends back to your phone will not work, you actually have to input gps coordinates into another system to locate where unit is near. Spend some extra dollars and get a proper gps tracker

This product is OK if all you want is a locator that will provide a general (within 500-900m) location estimate. You should not expect to use the map snapshot that is provided each time you poll the device to obtain an accurate location. Some points about this device: 1) The battery does not last up to 7 days - the best you will get is more like 4 days 2) Coverage - depends on your chosen mobile network because it uses a SIMM that you must provide. 3) Each time you SMS the unit for a location - you are sent back a map snapshot (GIF) of where the unit responded from - this is a low res "picture" and not of much use at all. It would have been much better if the user was simply sent a google maps link so that they may actually zoom in on the location. I would use this as a secondary source of location data but not a primary device to rely on. I know - it is a fraction of the price of a Spot3 but then you get what you pay for.Read full review

Neat to look at but mislead with the advertising. BAD BAD BAD, be careful with what you advertise this as.
