This book is a very funny spoof on travel guides, being about a made-up eastern European nation "untouched by modern dentistry" that features such treats as garlic brandy and a vision-impared dictator known as "Bu-Bu." All of the little cloying, irritating features of guidebooks are spoofed, such as corrections and language lessons, hotels, and quips from other travelers. The book manages to remain fresh and funny throughout and it very much deserved its spot on the best seller lists back when it came out. I can't say the same for the two sequals that came out after "Molvania," "San Sombrero" and "Phaic Tan," but Molvania is a book that you will want to return to again and again. In fact, this was a replacement copy for one I had lost long ago. Read when you really need a lift! Well worth any reasonable price.Read full review
This is one of the funniest books I have ever read. It has subtle and not so subtle "tounge in cheek " kind of humor. I first purchased the book when it was released and gave several copies to friends for the holidays that year. I lost my copy along with my home in a flood. When I finally got relocated and made of list of things that I just HAD to replace, this book was on the list. I was delighted to find it on e-bay. It it good to own a copy again. The are lots of laughs awaiting the reader in every page. I can not recommend this book enough !
Interesting book.

Fantastic book, funny, insightful, great satire. if you like Borat, you'll love this book. Reads just like a real travel book, with tons of humor interspersed.
This guide book to Molvania is hilarious! It does a wonderful job of mocking the real travel guide books through exquisitely detailed mimickery. Great for a gag gift to any traveler.
