Additional information
A mellow, restrained album from Caetano Veloso, utilizing much of the typical instrumentation of late '70s Brazilian pop. A few oddities do pop up, though--the choral backing of "Muito Romantico" is unexpected, yet effective. It's interesting to note that Veloso recorded the gentle and serene MUITO while his contemporaries were making elaborately arranged disco and pop albums. It's possible that A Outra Banda Da Terra, his backing band on both MUITO and CINEMA TRANSCENDENTAL, had a calming effect on Veloso's post-exile psyche. For those who enjoy Caetano Veloso's more tranquil music of the late '70s, MUITO and the albums that follow it (CINEMA TRANSCENDENTAL and OUTRAS PLALVRAS) would make excellent additions to your collection.
