Municipal Art Commissions and Street Lighting in European Cities, Vol. 42: Special Consular Reports (Classic Reprint) by United States Bureau of Manufactures (Paperback / softback, 2015)
Excerpt from Municipal Art Commissions and Street Lighting in European Cities, Vol. 42: Special Consular Reports Sir: I have the hor to submit herewith two series of special consular reports, the first dealing with municipal art commissions and the second with the methods of street lighting, in European cities, both of which were prepared in compliance with requests, for information on these subjects. Of the 100 reports prepared by consuls on the work of municipal art commissions, a small number have been selected for publication, as setting forth typical conditions in European cities and typical methods of meeting them. The reports on street lighting in Berlin, Brussels, London, Paris, and Vienna cover such points as the character of the lights in the most prominent streets of these cities, their number, location, distance apart, illuminating power, and cost per year.
