I wanted a zoom lens as well as wide angle especially for outdoor and landscape shooting. This lens does exactly that at half the price. Its very very much comparable to Nikkor lenses. In fact its better with more lens elements and equal number of aspherical elements. I am using this for my Nikon D5100. Didnt find any irritating problem except for the weight. Yes, its heavy but I use it to my advantage as it improves stability is what I feel. All in all its a good buy and most recommended for people with serious passion, and for startups, its a must have for actually learning to use lenses before you can afford, use and justiify those Nikkors and the like..
Takes excellent photos, Fabulous color and excellent value for money. Love the design and fits snuggly in my hands.

I bought this lens 2 years ago to go with my D3300 body only purchase. Always thought when funds increased I would upgrade to a Nikon lens. My first was a 18-300. Took both on vacation and when I got back, sold the Nikon. Then got a 18-200. After comparing images, again sold the Nikon. This lens is sharper and has better color than either Nikon lens. Have since upgraded to a Nikon D7200 with 18-140 and although the lens is as sharp as the Sigma, the sigma stays on my camera as my walk around lens for the extra reach. If you get a good copy as I did, no other lens in this class can beat it.

For some reason this lens will only auto focus on my old D300 and D700. When attached to my D7100, D800 and FTZ adapted Z50 it does absolutely nothing AF wise. All other features seem to work as they should. I can somewhat understand it not working on my Z50 but not the other two.
