10 Years of Shooters: Shooter Recipes Obtained from 10 Years of Bar Customers Who Shared Their Favorite Home-Town Shooter Recipes. by MR John William Cox (Paperback / softback, 2011)
10 Years of Shooters is just that, a recipe book of Shooter recipes I obtained as a bartender from customers coming from all across the US. A Shooter is NOT a Shot. Shooters require at least two or more liquors and/or mixers (a recipe), whereas a Shot is simply a single serving of one liquor. A good shooter is as important as a good food recipe, all the ingredients must work together to obtain the desired taste (and/or appearance). Shooters also tend to be very regional, as local mixologist combine liquors and mixers to concoct new and original recipes. Half the fun of concocting a new shooter is also creating the name. Just as food recipes are unkwingly duplicated by 2 different chefs, sometimes shooters appear with the same ingredients but kwn by different names. As old shooters get improved by new bartenders, different recipes may appear for the same name. The established bar served t only a local clientele but also a military base, therefore seeing a new turn-over customer base every six months or so. This served to be very important providing a fresh stream of new recipes and is how the majority of the shooters listed in this book were obtained. A few were created locally and at the bar itself. When these military customers shared their favorite back home shooter recipe, the recipe was saved on paper (usually a bar napkin) and thrown into a shoe box. After many years of compiling all these recipes, they are w in a book form. Since many of these shooter recipes are from regional areas, the recipe itself is t kwn on a global scale, i.e the internet. If you are in the service industry, or a customer looking for new ideas for shooters, this recipe book will provide hours of fun just reading through all the recipes. Please te: The Names of the shooters were t edited for content and therefore some names may contain language that may offend some people. 1673 total shooters. Why t an even 1700 or 2000? All these shooter recipes originated from the passing-on of actual customers, ne copied from other sources or the internet. So it stops at 1673, all tried and true. Cheers.
