Big Red Mad As A Hatter is a fictional story of a man called Big Red; born to Susie N. Colarte and Ernest Red Finney on Nov. 7, 1906 in Augusta, Georgia. The book discusses events in Big Red's life and his mother's life that may have contributed to the vile temper of Big Red which permeates his life and finds him leaving life t in peace but battling the nightmares of his past.
The author Vernon Lee Finney graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1957. He attended Iowa State University from 1957 to 1959 and graduated with a B.S. from Florida State University in 1962. He received his M.S. from FSU in 1967. He conducted deep sea research aboard the USNS Eltanin in Drake's Passage Antarctica in 1962. He has given technical presentations in Warsaw, Poland; Venice, Italy; Athens, Greece; Bangkok, Thailand. This is a fictional novel telling the story of a mother and son living lives of hatred and violence. Other books by Vernon include a fictional novel Three Toes Lives On ; The First Environmental Engineers and an autobiographical series titled The World According to Vern.
