Salinity stress is a worldwide problem, it is considered to be a significant factor affecting crop production and agricultural sustainability in many regions of the world and it reduces the value and productivity of the affected land. It has a major impact on crop production in arid and semi-arid regions and causes an agricultural problem under rain fed conditions when annual precipitation is not enough to leach excessive salts and prevent salt accumulation in the root zone. Therefore, the objective of this work was intended to study the effect of mineral fertilization to alleviate salinity hazards on the growth, mineral and chemical composition of Valencia orange budded on two citrus rootstock seedlings namely; sour orange ( Citrus aurantium L. ) Volkamer lemon (Citrus volkameriana Tan. and Pasq). Moreover, the study aimed to compare the two rootstocks from the standpoint of salt tolerance.
