Author Biography
Nancy Jane McCorkle Miller, a native and resident of the Pacific Northwest, taught government, history, philosophy, and comparative cultures at the high school level for 37 years, mostly under her first married name, Johnson. She got her B.A. magna cum laude in political science and her teaching credential from the University of Washington, where she became a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Matrix Table honoraries, and her M.A. from Seattle University. In 1999, she was the first National Board Certified Teacher in her subject area in Washington State. Now retired, she lives in Leavenworth with her husband, Bill, where she continues to be active in state and local organizations and from where she admires the activities of her children, their spouses, and her grandchildren.
