This little unit really does the job for what we wanted it for, to provide the power required for camping and boating, It easily works all the lights and kitchen appliances including the water heater and microwave on our Sea-ray Sun dancer, it starts great on the key, and on the remote and even by the pull cord, but a little fiddly to activate the choke manually,it requires removal of a body panel, the only other issue I had was how noisy it is, but it is a combustion engine so some noise is expected. Overall I would recommend it.

Bought this generator under the impression it had a rating of 3.2kva and a max output of 3.7kva... In actually fact it had a max rating of 2.9kva and a rated of about 2.6 kva. Now that's at a power factor of 1. Once you start to put motors and other inductive loads on it your power factor will worsen and the output of the generator will decrease, meaning you will never get 3.2kva out of it as the overload protection will cut out at 2.9kva. Was not a bad little generator for its price and features but dont be fooled by the misleading specifications on the unit.

3.2KVA rated , 3.7 max arrived after only 3 days. Read the instruction book, (easy to understand), used the measuring oil bottle to put in correct amount of good oil according to owner's manual, put in some fuel, opened the breather on the fuel cap, turned on the fuel tap, pumped the fuel bulb 10 times, checked the spark plug cap was fitted down over the spark plug snugly,(it wasn't), connected the battery as per owner's manual, and turned the key, vroom vroom, straight up. HOW EASY WAS THAT!!!!! I let it run for 15 minutes and then plugged in a 1675 watt blow heater, and it became a just a tad louder. Checked the LED read-out 50 HZ, 239 volts, 1680 Watts; how good is that. Turned the fuel tap to 'Off' disconnected heater and Genny went back to 'idle' and after about 4-5 minutes it stopped. Read somewhere that turning off the fuel tap and letting the genny run dry, means that you do not have old fuel gumming up the fuel lines and fuel system. I will attach a $45.00 battery tender to the starter battery to keep it in good condition for when I need back up power during a blackout for the house, or when we take the van out in summer and need the air-con while bush camping. Just what we needed to enjoy almost all the conveniences at home or on the road!!! And I paid $623.00 delivered to my door for a fuel injected genny. Name genny same output about 5 times as much $$$Read full review

I have only had this generator for a short while. I have load tested it and it handles the rated load with out too much fuss. It starts well whether hot or cold and appears to be reasonable quality for the price.

If you look at the specs it is always a worry if they are true or not. The previous 150cc engine is now 165cc, so if true would indicate a good power improvement over earlier models. If you look at 240 volts x 15 amps single plug maximum allowed output, this is a 3.6kVA maximum, or else the voltage or the amps are exceeding Australian Standards and will likely trip a caravan's power board circuit breakers. Any company claiming higher for a single outlet is basically lying. I have seen some claiming 5kVA for the same generator, so you have to be vigilant. What becomes the critical thing, is the power factor. Power factor is defined as the difference, expressed as a percentage, between the voltage and current sine waves. This is determined by the load, not the generator, and powering a mix of electric motors is taken as .8 average. The generator then becomes a 2960 kW generator, which is still plenty to start up a caravan air conditioner. This one was easy to fill with oil from the supplied filler bottle, after I downloaded the correct manual. The printed one sent with it is rubbish and did not indicate the correct amount of oil needed. 450ml of Castrol 10W-40 got it going after connecting the starter battery connection. It was a bit hard to stuff the connected plastic covered connections back into the space they came from, to enable the cover to be put back on. Pumping the bulb after fuelling, with the fuel valve on, and the fuel breather on the cap set to run, choke on, just two key turns of the starter motor got it going. No cord pulling needed, but I used it to check compression, which was high. After running for a while I tested it on "12 volts" charging a car battery, and the readings on the display seemed accurate at 13.6v and a few amps. It took a few goes to get the 12v press button switch to work, and it seems stuck now, not to be able to be turned off. Really doesn't matter if the supplied lead with red and black alligator clips, is not plugged in. The display also showed 240 volts 0 amps, which makes it very easy to check what's going on. With the eBay discount code, it was extremely well priced, compact and powerful, but not too heavy or loud. It will need to be placed a fair way from the caravan to cut down on the noise, so not a crowded site option, even on eco. About the same noise as a 2kVA Honda. Just keep a written record of all maintenance, with 20 hours for the first oil change etc., to prevent voiding warranty. Part of the display shows running time hours. Well worth buying compared to the outrageous Yamaha and Honda prices!Read full review
