Well, long story short, I got these pickups to replace the SCN noiseless pickups that went out on my MIM Telecaster. Yeah, I know. Seems like a step backwards, but I read good reviews on them online, and decided that I wanted to at least try something that was an actual single coil pickup. Mind you, am not a huge fan of 60 Hz hum, but wanted to give these a shot anyhow. Luckily, I already used shielding paint on the inside cavity of my guitar. Now with that, I installed them, and was like "These are noisy!". Found out that I did not install the prerequisite grounding wire to the bridge. So, had to take apart, install wire, reinstall, then the magic happened. These things sound just as good as the SCN pickups that they replaced, but had even more sparkle to the sound! And to boot, are almost noise free! Just a tiny bit coming from the neck pickup, but nothing I cannot handle. Neck pickup has a very mellow jazzy sound without being muddy, the middle position is great for all types of chords and such, and then, the bridge. The best sounding position on my rig! Definitely will cut thru the mix, just as twangy as it can be, good for whatever type of music you want to throw at it. Yes, and it is a hot pickup set too. I think the neck is 10k and the bridge like 11k, in that ball park. I highly recommend these pickups for all around Tele goodness, without going to the boutique. Read full review

I must start off saying. A Fender pickup that was a little larger than a standard pickup. I would have thought if would fit into a Fender bridge much easier. I have to do a few little sanding modifications to get the bobbin underneath the bridge to sit right and line up with existing holes on the bridge plate. Once all the work was done they work beautifully! This new Telecaster I put together is about to ROCK! Would I recommend these pups? For this price and such a nice clean sound. You betcha! Just be prepared to do a little work.

Good solid Telecaster bridge pickup with plenty of headroom, neck pickup is great clean or driven, great when combined, I've bought DiMarzio and Duncan over the years, but for a realistic true Tele tone, you can't top these, and under 60 bucks for the set. Good value.

This is the third set of Deluxe Drive Pickups I have installed. 2 sets of Tele, 1 Set of Strat. They are wound hot, but didn't really appear hot, but very full, not anemic at all. They seriously woke up all three of the guitars I installed them in. More ballsy, Not brighter, It's my opinion when in the Strat....They DO have a rather compressed bite, but they sing beautifully clean and when used with High Gain settings, On my Telecasters...they both have the Baja S-1 Wiring installed and after installing the first set of these pickups....I decided I had to have them for my Strat and second Tele. YMMY, But I play Clean Clean Country, Blues, Classic Rock and a little Heavier stuff, Played Pro most of my life (50 Years). These pickups give just what I've been looking for ... for years. So glad I finally found them. They are talked down by some, but I believe it's all about the players ears....I personally hate Texas Specials but people brag all day about them....To each his own.....And this is my Review. So as stated above....Diffierent ears mean different preferences...I love them. If you are trying to get a fuller, warmer sound...then this is what you are looking for.Read full review
