Author Biography
I was born in Bradford in West Yorkshire in 1939. I served an apprenticeship as a Draughtsman/Estimator, and spent two years in Australia and twenty eight years in South Africa, returning to England in 2010 when I retired. My wife Elena and I live in the small town of Desborough in Northamptonshire. I wrote my first book in 2012 called Jam Tomorrer which is the story of my life, at her prompting, and I have written ten stories for children, and eight novels, this one 'Life's a Bitch and Then You Die is my ninth. I love sport of any kind, I support Chelsea, Yorkshire cricket team and Bradford Bulls. Elena and I both love animals and spend many days walking in the nearby parks and on the banks of a wonderful canal. I play indoor bowls three times a week and devote one morning to working in a charity shop when I chat to the interesting people of Desborough. My pet hate is injustice, which the old people share.I used to read a lot but nowadays I am too busy writing, I wish that I had started forty years ago.My son Barry and his wife Dorcas gave me two wonderful and clever grandchildren Liam and Sophie, my daughter Sarah who still lives in South Africa remains a big part of my life, I lost her beautiful mother Susan to the dreaded disease of cancer ten years ago. Elena's daughter Valentina is the one who reads my books and urges me to write more, she is in charge of very valuable icons at a Museum in Russia where she lives. I am fortunate to have lived a wonderful life, the sixties in Britain which we will never see again, the eighties and nineties in South Africa were paradise to me, I was fortunate to witness the rise of Nelson Mandela, a truly great man. Most of all I like interesting people, of any age, any colour or creed, any religious belief, as long as you are tolerant and will listen to my views
