Easy reading requires imagination to the period this was set.
I Enjoyed reading this book .i liked how it had different settings with different families and what was required of cooks general loved that it was easy reading that you could put yourself in their shoes and just imagine what it would have been like for the little pay they received for doing their jobs.woyld read it again.

A great, yet easy to read, account of that part of her life.
Monica Dickens was one of the great writers of our age. A wonderful understanding of human behaviour. She has written many fiction stories as well.
