I don't think I've enjoyed a biography or autobiography like this one for a very long time! It's got history (my favorite!), adventure, love, relationships and just good writing developed over a period of 100 years or so in the lives of 3 generations of Christians, Muslims and Jews. There may not be much action here, but the writer leaves that to your imagination, making this descriptive and historical novel a really entertaining read. I can't really say that there's a "happy ending" to this true story, but there certainly is a pause for all members of the above religions to think about; especially in this day and age when extremism has raised its ugly head in much of the Arab Muslim world, this book is a subliminal call for dialogue, openness, and understanding that we are all children of the One G-d and should all try to live together in Peace,as did the author and her parents and grandmother, despite their multicultural-religious backgrounds. This book is truly -in my opinion- a watershed of ecumenical literature which should be read by all who believe that one day we shall live as one on this planet, worshiping the same G-d, in different ways which do not offend each other, till the Truth be revealed that we are all the children of the same Father (or Mother) in Heaven.Read full review
