Author Biography
Wintley Phippsis a world-renowned vocal artist and a two-time Grammy Award nominee. He is the founder of the US DreamAcademy, a program to mentor and empower at-risk children of incarcerated parents by offering them academic, social, and mentoringopportunities. Phipps has been honored with several service awards, including the Oprah Winfrey Angel Network Use Your Life Award;the Excellence in Mentoring for Program Leadership Award from MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnerships; and the Philanthropist ofthe Year Award from the National Center for Black Philanthropy, Inc. Born in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Phipps has traveledthe world delivering messages of hope through his motivational speaking and gospel voice. He has performed in front of audiences that haveincluded US presidents, Nelson Mandela, and Mother Teresa. Phipps holds a master of divinity from Andrews University and serves as seniorpastor of Palm Bay Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Palm Bay, Florida. He and his wife, Linda, have three sons.
