Pretty good remote! I own 7 of them and yes they break over time. Three of mine are broken but they've all lasted three years then begin to fail. So I've replaced them w/4 more, 2 new and 2 in great used condition. With that said the programming is tedious but simple. The EZ-RC Software is very fundamental and again repetitious. Once you get a good program for all your components (I've got 12 components programmed into it) into just one device, the great thing is you can download it into as many of the same model number as you want (in my case 6 more. A great feature is that with the ARR E433B Radio Relay you can use components in other rooms, yep not even be in the same room to crank up the stereo or much more. Good luck!

It looks good, and feels good in my hands. Color and the backlight buttons looks great. The touch display you can program to show pictures of the channel you would like the button to have, nice feature for such a cheap remote. Battery life is very good, recharge once a month. What I don't like is the touch screen, it's extremely bad. You always have to take a look at what you are doing, since the screen only works now and then. This would be ok if the remote was broken, but I belive it works as it should do. If you are looking for a universal remote, and don't have a big problem with some small issues. Then this would be something for you. Just to note it, I'm keeping the remote, I can still use it and be happy.
Have had this remote for 5 years and bought another one when it started to wear out. Couldn't find anything like this under $300. Good value, keeps your programing online, learning keys, lots of options and good touch screen. Glad I was able to find another one.

I have owned this ARRX18G remote control for about two months I am pretty satisfied with it, I also own a Logitech Harmony one also a Harmony 890 and a Harmony 520,the setup on this remote is similar to the Harmony remotes do to you run the software on your computer then connect the remote with a USB cable and use the on-screen program to set up your devices on your remote it can be a bit tricky it is not easy as they advertise, the good part is they have a good support team you can contact to help you get it set up it does not work quite as good as a Harmony for certain commands, but overall the colored screen is much better looking and easier to read than the Harmony remotes also the lit keypads are lit up in a very nice blue color which makes all the keys quite easy to see again I would have to say even better than my Harmony one, on the A/R remote there are 2 steps you must add one command is a Hello command to start using your remote and there is a Goodbye command to turn off your system not a big deal, also I have the RF extender for it and it works quite well if you have components in your system that the remote cannot see but it is not necessary the remote is really cool even without the extender, so if you want a really cool remote you might want to consider buying this remote, if you do enjoy.Read full review
This remote is awesome... It found the codes to most of my equipment right away. The only thing it didn't have a code for was my stereo I bought in 2004. I should say that the codes for the stereo weren't exact. That however wasn't a problem since this remote learned the functions I needed it to in a few simple steps. I have buttons programmed for my TV, cable box, and stereo all on one setting so there is no switching back and forth between devices. When I ran out of buttons to learn functions I just created them on the screen. I'm glad I chose this remote over the Logitech 900, I got the same bang for a lot less buck!
