After setting the Neewer NW-700 microphone as per the forthe very well written user instructions - it did take a little while to work out why the sound was so quiet. Took a while to plough through the the Windows 10 menus for sound volume controls for both input and output (I/O). The 47v amplifier box to make the condenser mic work was easy to set up, however, after some lengthy fault finding, it was determined that the computer I was using didn't pump enough power from the USB to the amplifier. Instead I used a 240v 5v 2amp phone charger which made a huge difference to the mic sound.

I have now bought 2 of these - my son "borrowed" my first one. If you want to start a home studio or do pod casts, then this is fine. NB: it needs power - this is typical for a condenser mic - called Phantom Power - it's 48v. Generally you would get this from an audio device. I use Behringer U-Phoria UM2 - there is a switch at the back for 48v power - and whalla! If you want to set up a studio for cheap, try: 1) Neewer NW-700 Black Condenser Microphone - plug into 2) below. 2) Behringer U-Phoria UM2 - USB into computer (about AUD $65) 3) I use Bandlab's Cakewalk software on computer (freeware) 4) Some desktop speakers - I use Behringer MS16 (about AUD $138) And have fun. I really like the Neewer NW-700 Black Condenser Microphone.

Cheap and does the job! If you're interested in live streaming this is a great mic to start with, if you're just using this for calls or the like, DEFINITELY does the job. Make sure you have Realtek installed and look up online how to properly set it up!

Good value and contains all the items for recording applications. The microphone is a little toppy so will require a little more EQ adjustment to compensate. Overall good value.

I have had a very mixed experience with Chinese made products, most of them being of such poor quality as to be unfit for purpose. A low price is not much good when the product goes straight from box to bin. But this Neweer studio mic and stand is just brilliant The sound is warm and natural, and the pop filter works like a charm. You just can't lose.
