Great gpsmap device with the addition of a built in camera. Photos are not of epic quality, but do the trick for work-related use. And they are automatically georeferenced so there's never confusion about where they're from. All other features of the gps are fantastic.

good gps, it has strong gps signal, it can receive signal inside my house while other normal gps (the ones used in cars while driving) cannot. it has accuracy too. it can plot lines while i am walking inside my house. very impressive. haven't got a chance to test the water proof performance. the map can be easily upgrade, just copy the new map (need to purchase separately) into internal memory which is fairly large 3.5Gb.
Over all this is a pretty good unit. Is it better than my GPSmap60CSx which I really liked? Not all that much. It locks on to satellites quicker. It holds more waypoints. Those are the two things I thought were an improvement. Camera is there but it is only so so. Other than that I don't see a significant difference. The 62 series treats the unit as a drive when connected to your PC. The 60 series treats the unit as a device. That meant you could see the unit screen and move through the menus on it while it was connected to your pc. Can't do that with the 62 series. You need to find it as a drive and search its folders for anything you might want to see. The unit screen it blank when it is hooked to a PC. The review screen will not let met rate the display unless I rate it a 5 so I am leaving that blank. Display is probably a 3.5. No better no worse than the 60 series. I really like this unit even though it probably sounds like I am not in love with it. It is functional. It does what I want it to do in a pretty straightforward manner. I like it enough over anything else that is out there that I bought a second unit for my wife. I do think however that Garmin could have made a much bigger technological leap forward with this series than it did. That disappoints me a bit.Read full review
Excellent handheld GPS unit backed by great support provided by Garmin. This unit has all the features needed for my hiking ang hunting needs. The topo map version seemed a waste of money to me with the available free maps out there and the capability of always adding Garmin topo later.
