Was originally looking for a new read in the same vein as the Locke Lamora trilogy, and came across this trilogy by Brent Weeks. Individual books were priced at around $9 on Amazon and this was trilogy was around $11 (if memory serves) after s&h, so I figured why not buy the whole damn thing? The trilogy itself is a nice solid read with characters that evict some powerful emotions as the trilogy comes to an end -- the last page of the epilogue to book three probably being one of the warmest feelings I've gotten reading a book in quite some time. While some strange grammatical flaws and spelling errors are sprinkled throughout, the book is quite good. Adult content through and through with scenes of torture, rape, bloody, bloody revenge, child and adult prostitution, and epic, sprawling battles, I wouldn't put this book in the hands of anyone younger than 15.Read full review
