I found this SSD very hard to initialize where the computer would recognize the operating system. Using a Lenovo y580 (Win8, yuk) operating system, I changed over to WinXP Pro 64 Bit. I could not get the operating system to initiate by cloning, only way was to re-install the system on the SSD. Several times was the system initialized, reinstalled and several times redone. Finally found cloning software that worked with the SSD and was able to clone to HD from SSD and from HD to SSD. Used lots of information from Internet and thanks to others research, mistakes and successes the solution was found. Thanks to all those "experts" for showing the way.
This was my first SSD. Bought it because I hear they are supposed to be fast. Very quick. Even on my older computer (sata1 speeds only) it still loaded everything very quickly compared to my seagate barracuda hard drive. I don't know how it compares to any other ssd's but this has no noise, low power consumption, and amazingly fast response. There's not much to complain about, I haven't had any reliability issues. Have it working in windows XP 32-bit using 3rd party alignment and cleaning software. When I first installed it I laughed at how quickly windows loads and reboots. Virtually instant.
As a longtime fan of the OCZ SSD products, this one has my thumbs-up as well. It performs quite well being a couple of notches above the initial vertex line. The machine we installed it iin is a PC approaching 5 years of age and we had absolutely no issues cloning a Windows 7 installation from the vertex ssd (first generation) already in place on it. The tested benchmarks are within reason for these drives and all the needed tweaks for a reliable ssd are in place. I have no doubt that this one will give us a good deal of useful service and performance. We have had only one OCZ ssd to fail since we began using them 2+ years ago and it was promptly replaced by OCZ with no questions asked as it was verified via the serial number as still under warranty. I heartily recommend this on to anyone needing to replace or upgrade their PC hard-drive. You WILL see the difference immediately!Read full review
It is quiet as long as it is in a good spot in my computer. If it slips out of the spot it starts making noise. I am happy with my purchase, and felt that I got a good deal!

Works great use it every day. Fast shipping... I like solid state drives and I am looking forward to a long life. I have had two by the same and both work great. I can't compare it to another product
