Olympus make great cameras
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
easy to use camera, with many options and great choice of lenses. great for a portable camera or a beginner.
where on earth can you get a camera that is splash proof, have capacity to change lens, have inbuilt very usable 100% viewfinder, has pro-level optimization and controls, and cost you less than a thousand dollars. on top its build quality is so good I thought that even brand new full retail was a steel. Olympus has done what other companies could only dream to do. I was never a fan of olympus in film days apart from it's muju-II. but after having this camera for unexpectedly long time I am very much impressed. people complain about it having small sensor and they can not have shallow depth of field on this, these are those people who have not used this camera yet. the prime lens 17mm f/1.8 gives very shallow depth of field and it's auto-focus performance is unbeatable. additionally what ever legacy lens you use on this camera with adapters you are going to get the same amount of depth of field as any other or even full frame camera the only difference is that the image would be cropped. means you might have to stand back a little bit to make a good portrait with a portrait lenses. if you take kid's pictures than I do not think that any other camera could beat this camera because it captures all the action in the split of a second and its best IBS system does work well to minimize shakes and blurs. I have used in past many cameras and tried their image stabilizers but never found them useful enough to vouch for them. but this camera has a very useful and functional IBS system and I could fully vouch for it as I have used it myself. another thing I found very user friendly or useful is to have the viewfinder where it suppose to be above the lens not on the side which I never get use to with sony or fujifilm. the veiwfinder on top of the lens feel very normal and easy to use. even though olympus has made ep-5 and em-1 but I think it OM-D EM-5 is still the winner. it is smaller and more compact and cheaper than em-1 and produces the same image quality. it is waterproof and ep-5 despite being the same price is not waterproof. I think this is still the best camera you could buy for your money.Read full review
Great camera with a lot of features but can be used in auto and do still excellent photos. I don't find hard to use it
Bought one without lens as I have one myself. This is an amazing camera. So many feature in a small body. Take a few photo in the Melbourne Mall at 9:04pm, with no flash, no tripod, all auto. All photo come out sharp and colourful, even the decorations hanging in the sky! Loving it.
