I bought this book because I am reading the detective stories written by Stuart Kaminsky about the Russian inspector Rostnikov. Kaminsky died in 2009 and its last books with Rostnikov were not translated into French. That's why I decided to buy this book in English to follow the evolution of the characters living in Russia which is deeply changing. To read in English is for me a challenge, it's a very long time that I did not do it, I am used to read in French and in Russian, and it is going to stimulate my brain to read the English text. I have not begun this book yet, because there are about fifteen that precede it and I am reading the twelfth. But I am sure that it will please me, I appreciate the style of the author, its humour, the psychology of the characters who are not congealed and their humanity, likelihood of facts and thorough knowledge of life in Russia such as it is.Read full review
