Everything on the box confirmed that the this was the seal for my cooker. The name plate on the lid of my particular Presto is 604. The box on the new seal states "For Models 50.60,603,604". Since I don't know how to cross reference the number of the old seal I could't check it against the claim on the box that states "Replaces Part 1758". At this point I am at a loss of what to do or in how to find the right seal for my model :-( Oh well. I'll just have to do more online research to find the right ring.

How do you extend the life of a 60 year-old, made in the USA pressure cooker? With a new sealing ring and air vent kit. Though the old "gasket" was a bit tough to extract after its many years of service, the new parts fit right the first time and were fairly straightforward to install. I noticed the difference right off the bat with the cooker during operation - nothing like a tight seal to get the "rocker" on top going, which didn't always rock in the past. It's hard to tell if it will have the service life of the original part, but I'm delighted that such an inexpensive kit could make my old pressure cooker work like new.
