I heard about this series of CDs on a TV News story and immediately began looking for them on eBay. (I Love you, eBay.) Now, I'm not 'childless'... But I am Child-Free. But, as I found out from that news piece, you don't have to be a sleep-deprived new parent of a fussy infant to enjoy these CDs. If you are a fan of the bands whose music is represented (and there's quite a few of them), then you'll find them worth your while. To be honest, I never got a chance to listen to the U2 Lullaby CD, as I bought it as a gift for my brother, who IS a new father. (They make GREAT Gifts!) He loves U2. He recently saw them in Hawaii. He tells me that he's played the CD non-stop, everyday since he received it. I'm sure the baby's enjoying it, too. I do have the Queens of the Stone Age CD and will be buying the Nirvana one and... who knows? I'll have to see who else is on the list. There are CDs in this series for many different musical tastes. Check 'em out. Just do a search for "lullaby renditions of". Whether for yourself or as a gift for that friend or relative who is a new parent or parent-to-be (and possibly in need of something soothing to listen to). Music to your ears. And an enjoyable intro for the new baby to some of your favorite music. Highly recommended.Read full review
This is a great CD! My daughter was having a hard time sleeping alone in her room (She is 15 mo). I discovered that she would sleep all night if music was playing. I tried this with her crib CD player but that got a bit pricey with the batteries. My husband and I decided to buy a small boombox and set it up in her room. I than came across the Rockaby Baby! CDs and we LOVE them. They are soothing for baby and still hip enough for Mom & Dad. I also reccommend Rockaby Baby! Renditions of the Beatles and Coldplay. This line of music is amazing and very much worth your time and money!
This series of albums, ranging from Bob Marley to Nine Inch Nails, reimagines your favourite music as instrumental lullabyes. You can put on soothing sounds for the baby, without driving yourself batty with hours of Old MacDonald. I bought this as a gift for a good friend and his wife who are expecting their first child. They're big U2 fans, and I think they'll really enjoy it. If the idea intrigues you, there's probably at least one of your favourite artists among the two dozen titles (and growing) available.
Great cd, dont expect complicatad orchestras, this is a music box playing your favourite tracks. as a U2 fan and a first time father I can say this is a must have for bothe you, and your child!
It's more novelty than practical. I found myself singing along to the music even without words! May be better for baby than some of the louder rock instruments. Overall good purchase.
