I purchased this drive to replace the original 250GB drive that died in my Compaq CQ60 laptop. It's the largest I could go so buying a new SSD was out of the question but I would have rathered to go that way. The drive fitted in nicely and the bios picked it straight up so no problems there I install XP ultimate onto the drive from an OEM copy that I still had from my days of working as a tech. Smooth install and then proceeded to download the drivers needed for all the hardware in the CQ60. All is now up and running with no problems the drive is quite and not rattly which is what you want in a machine that for the most part sits on either your lap or 1 foot in front of you. So far no troubles with the drive and I hope not to have any for the life of the machine. I would not hesitate to buy one of these drives again for the older style laptops or even to put into an external case.
