The group, which formed in London in 1962, distilled so much of the music that had come before it and has exerted a decisive influence on so much that has come after. No stranger to rock concert films (The Last Waltz), Scorsese filmed the Stones over a two-day period at the intimate Beacon Theater in New York City in fall 2006. He assembled an incredible team of cinematographers to capture the raw energy of the legendary band.

    One of the best Stones concerts on DVD

    This purchase was to replace a DVD I'd lent out, and didn't come back. I would rate this Stones DVD one of the best I have in my collection. Certainly the camera work is brilliant, a major draw for the times, being a film made for the cinema. There's a 15 min doco with it. Principally is a concert played at the Beacon Theatre New York City in 2006. I have a huge collection of rock concert DVDs, which have not been a major output for most bands, so finding them is a challenge. If you get the chance to buy this one, don't hesitate.
