After using the iPhone for some years, switching over to the i9100G was a bit of a gamble, however, it paid off. I find the Galaxy S II lighter in weight, sharper screen, better camera/lense, easy to use once you get the hang of it and cheaper to purchase outright. Software wise, no issue, as a matter of fact cheaper to run as most downloads are free i.e. music, apps etc; One thing I find very frustrating is where the 'On/Off' and volume control buttons are located. I keep turning the power off and or turning the volume down when holding it on my hand, wish both buttons were located on top of the unit or elsewhere. However, I have overcome the problem by purchasing a 'cover' which protrudes over the buttons.
I have purchased this phone off eBay for myself, my sister and my partner. Honestly, beats the iPhone 4S, which I purchased brand new and then sold again. Great camera, great variety of apps in the Google Play store (many free which you would have to pay for in Apple's App store). Honestly, you can't go wrong with it. Only thing is, like many smartphones, battery life is not the best and it does tend to heat up when you have been using it for a prolonged period of time, however this is not unusual. Apart from this, 10/10 for this product!
The phone is light weight and easy to use. The camera is suprisingly good for a phone and takes clear photos with very little pixelation. The battery life does go rather quickly but that depends on how much you use it. I normally get up to 4 days use before having to recharge it. The screen is easy to read and I like that the keyboard becomes larger when the phone is turned sideways. Working in a warehouse I was concerned about damaging the phone so I purchased a hard cover. I have relied on Nokia phones as being tough and sturdy. I am pleasantly suprised with the Samsung. I have dropped it a few times and it gets a fair few knocks but the phone takes it. As far as price I found it to be rather expensive at $500 odd and the screen is difficult to read when in sunlight. Great choice of phone covers and a screen protector is a must have item. Having to use the map icon was a breeze. Wonderful up to date freeway information, traffic updates and correct street details helped put some sanity into a 5 hour round trip recently. For a recently upgraded phone it is a rather suprisingly good package. The reception is excellent and never drops out during a call.Read full review
I brought this item as a birthday present for myself, to upgrade from a samsung galaxy S I9000. I really enjoy the upgrated features of this phone, and how much quicker it runs. To be really honest, I do not dislike anything about this mobile phone. Yes if I was to buy another phone, I would definatly buy this one again. Comparing this product to an IPhone, it is so much more easier to use, and battery life lasts a whole lot longer. I would recommended anybody to buy a Samsung Galaxy S II i9100 before buying a IPhone. :)
the phone speaking from a 73 year old prospective is not easy to navigate, the keyboard is tiny and hard to read and use for typing messages, which is a surprise considering the overall size of the galaxy S11. This whole exercise is irrelevant in any event because technology is changing at a frightening rate and no one will take any notice of a wrinkled up old mans opinion.
