The Clip Sport is fine in terms of audio quality and has a good battery life, but compared to my previous MP3 player, a SanDisk Sansa Clip Zip, the menu and file navigation feels slow and poorly designed. I mainly use my Mp3 player for listening to audiobooks, and often have to skip through hours of an audio file to find my place again. This takes unnecessarily long time on the Clip Sport which can, at most (after you hold down fast forward/rewind for 20-30 seconds), skip 2 minutes of a file every 1-2 seconds. Menu navigation is just slow enough to feel sluggish (it feels like it takes the screen display several frames to catch up whenever you do something), making skipping around music folders a pain, and if you accidentally hit the back button more than once in a row you get kicked back to the main menu screen, making sub folders a chore to navigate. There's only a very small visual feedback when you pause/unpause a file (the tiny icon in the top right corner changes), but if you change the volume at all you're forced to wait a full 5 seconds for the screen covering volume image to disappear while all your controls are locked. Overall, the Sansa Clip Sport would be a fine Mp3 player if you're just going to throw single folder music playlists on it, hit shuffle and let it play, but for me it was a disappointment after having my far better Clip Zip for 4-5 years (which was, when I bought it, also a third to half the price of the Clip Sport).Read full review
