Excellent for female vocals. I have been using them for years and unless you have a low/husky female voice you need to use these. Having said that they are perfectly fine with low husky vocals as well. Excellent mid range so not lost in the mix live. Really good response and delivers as natural tones as a mic can. Comfortable to hold. Good for recording as well. Excellent and easy for controlling feedback (google the specs) Great for male vocals as well just pull some mids back and maybe some lows back at the desk if you need to. Solid casing, very durable. Don't get caught up in what some music shop owner or sound guy says is the industry standard. The Sennheiser E835 is the simplest mic to use and at good price. Trust me if you are a girl in a band buy this. Look after it and keep it clean "Lipstick, I am a girl:)" and it will last you for years. Highly recommend.Read full review

Mmmm, not as good as AKG-D5 when using live for lead and back up vocals please buy AKG D5 as we have tried using both and AKG wins all over this Sennheiser E835 therefore the E835 is not as good as AKG D5.

Bought this mic to replace my Shure SM58. The clarity is very noticeable, and is far superior sound wise to the SM58. Seems study enough but time will tell on that one. For the money, you can't go wrong investing in one of these.
