As long as you take care of it and use purified water it will last a long time and clean better than any mop. The newer S3601's don't put out as much steam. They have a different system to deliver water to the heating element, perhaps to help minimize calcium build up. If you just use purified water should be no problems but the older, more steam, mops S3601's are harder to find. My old one is S3601, another old one is S3601A. Ordered a S3601W, hope its the old design. If buying used make sure to ask is it producing plenty of steam. Otherwise they have not used purified water and you will need to tear it down to get to the heating core and drill out the calcium deposits in the inlet and outlet. If you see a tube in the water reservoir its the new design thus less steam.

First use it was clogged and a hose split because of the pressure build up. Not worth the cost of shipping it back. Obviously it was not checked before shipping. We tried to repair the hose but the split was too far down. Bad purchase. Bought a new one instead. Live and learn.

The problem on these types of vacuums is they usually have a short cord length. This one is around 20' so it's perfect to get most of the area without having to unplug and replug or use an extension cord. Overall it does a great job at cleaning up.

Love this cleaner. I use it on my wood floors and ceramic tile. It doesn't do much for cleaning grout, but it's great for cleaning the floors. Previously, no matter what I used to clean my floors, or how often, I would still end up with black feet! Gross! After getting this, and doing 2 passes over the entire house with it, my feet are no longer black when I walk around. It is easy to use, the floors dry very quickly, and there's no need to use any chemicals on your floor! If you want an added boost of cleaning, I recommend you spray vinegar/water solution on your wood floors then go over it with this. The pads are easy to clean. I just pull it off and drop it in a sink with some oxy clean for about an hour. Do this right away so the dirt from the floor doesn't dry into the pad.
Steamer was brand new, in display box. It assembles easily. Steamer worked great. We got it to replace one that quit steaming (it was the head that holds the mop that stopped the steam.) Didn't notice that the head on this unit is the regular size head and not the XL head on the unit that we bought several years ago. No deception in the ad, I just didn't notice the head size. You might want one with the XL head if you have a large space of tile or vinyl.
