This is my third tablet. I almost went to Apple after my second, But decided that changin everything over would be extremely costly. I had read about this tablet and knew it was coming out soon. I am a Sony consumer, always have been. I like how sleek and modern Sony always thrives to be. Now about the Sony S. I really enjoy it. I like the shape of it, how lightweight and easy it is to carry. I love how responsive it is. I don't feel like I am waiting for any application to open or that I have to reboot it for it to work right. It comes with a lot application, games and a beautiful sharp screen. I also think the remote control feature is very neat. Cons; The battery life, could stand to be a little better. The body is plastic so finger prints drive me crazy! It does have a full SD card slot, But you can not run applications off of it. You have to download them to the Tablet then use them. Also the file transfer application is complicated. On the whole, I do really enjoy the tablet, I can't wait for the DLNA uprade and I also have never really been a gamer, But this tablet makes it fum to game and so I can't wait for more games to come.Read full review
I purchased this item as a gift for my sister. It was perfect!! It's just the right size and it is very light. I love the remote control feature that works on the tv, cable box, and the home theater. There are allot of great apps available and the tab is very easy to use and functional.
Sony Tablet S works good and I never had a problem with the tablet it's very easy to use. The stle and the size is perfect. It's not heavy it's very light in weight. The style is very nice and different. The battery life is very good. I had plenty of good compliments on the Tablet especially in the style itself.
I have owned this Tablet S for about a year now, it is exceptional. You can finally download Android Ice Cream 4.0 update to it from its 3.2 Honeycomb version. The new OS gave my tablet a new life in terms of functionality, usability, look, and performance. I thought it was awesome before, now it is even better. But enough about the OS, the tablet itself is amazing. It is the only one I found that has an IR remote functionality built in, so it's nice that I can very easily and quickly pull up remote buttons to change channel or adjust audio. With the new ICS system, this is even easier now because you can have widget like functions on your screen without affecting anything else you're doing. When I looked for a tablet, I wanted something I can expand for one in terms of memory and also have a way to change the battery, since no they don't last forever. This is the only tablet that you can unscrew the back panel and change the battery. No other tablet offers that. Now there is nothing official about it but I found in my research that this is indeed possible. As for the memory expansion, you can only add a SD card but this is enough for me. If you are planning to have a ton of pics on there and movies and files, I do recommend the 32GB version. This thing is 16GB but you don't get all 16 for your personal space. Some of it is reserved for the OS. I view a lot of movies and pics on it primarily but I keep them all on my local pc and make SD cards with a copy of the ones I want that I use with the tablet. This is for peace of mind and also manageability of my files. I don't want to be running out of space and trying to figure out where my fiels are at and which ones are taking a lot of space. The shape of this thing is very unique and I had doubts at first, but not after using it. It is very easy to cary this tablet in your hand and has a nice grip to it. It also makes it very easy to read magazines, which I love doing. I also love to watch movies and photos on this thing. Works beautifully. You can also play some Playstation games on it as well and you can do so now using a Playstation 6 axis wireless controller found with your Playstation 3. But to synch the two you do need to buy a special cable to connect the two devices together once. After the remote gets registered with the tablet, you can utilize it for the games. There really is not much deal breaker negatives in this tablet that I can think of so far from what I've experienced. Despite people complaining about how it has it's own unique charger and that you can't charge it using a usb port, I don't mind using the charger it comes with. I think it was designed this way so it can be used with a docking station. To think of it some people might find the front camera, which is very low on resolution to be very dated, I did, because it's not even one megapixel but it is still very good for Skype (in good lit areas) and the rear camera which can also be used for Skype is much better at 3 megapixels. Overall this Tablet S does so much more than what I thought it would. Now that they are $400 makes this a nice buy. I did get a great deal when I found mine back when they were $499 for only $369. I still don't know how I found that price back then but it was new, never opened, never refurbished and the seller only had one so I was very fortunate. I use this talblet for every day web surfing, Skyping, facebooking, youtubing, etc. and just love it.Read full review
I am extremly happy with the Sony tablet S. Sony has created a top of the line product that i find is second to NONE. Not even the IPAD2. I have friends and family who own Apple products and When shown them my Sony tablet S and the extra things it can do OUT OF THE BOX, some of those friends were jealous!. And i can see why. Not to put down apple ipad its a wonderful product, but with the sony tablet S you really get MORE for your hard earned money!. Also if you own many sony products such as TV, Blueray and such the Sony Tablet S is a MUST OWN! You can configure your tablet S to communicate with ANY DNLA product where the fun begins by throwing media content to DNLA tv's and Blueray players. Only down side is lack of support for PS3. But i expect that to be addressed with new software upgrades in the future for PS3 and Sonys Android loads. But over all VERY IMPRESSED AND CANNOT LEAVE HOME WITH OUT MY SONY TABLET S!!! I am now CONNECTED!Read full review
