The small mountain town of Riker's Bend, Montana is embroiled in a wolf-hunting controversy in which environmentalists struggle to save the endangered species while local ranchers grow angrier at the loss of livestock to the cturnal predators. Into this powder keg comes a mysterious, young stranger who is wounded by a hunter and unable to speak English. A local rancher and Iraq war vet, Roy Dodson, feels sorry for him and takes him in.
