I've collected and played through all sets of the Star Wars Miniatures. The Universe set is rated as good only because of the introduction of the huge figures. As far as playable, powerful characters go, the Universe set really does not have much apart from Darth Vader Champion of the Sith and Luke Skywalker Jedi Master. It does include characters from outside of the Star Wars movies like Kyle Katarn, Prince Xizor, Nightsister Sith Witch, and Grand Admiral Thrawn. The major drawback, currently, with this and all other sets that include huge figures is the inability to maneuver the huge figures around the maps. Sure, the hailfire droid looks awesome, but on most maps you can only move it a couple of squares. Overall, good set if you read the expanded Star Wars novels and like huge figures. If you don't read or want huge figures that do not move, buy the Champions of the Force or Revenge of the Sith sets.Read full review
The Universe set is really great for several reasons. It is also cost efficient if you wish to get a case of them. It may be the hardest set to build as far as getting all sixty figures but the huge figures are great. The best part about this set is it is the Star Wars universe and if you have read any of the books that Lucas authorized i.e. (Thrawn Trilogy) this set covers it all. From Grand Admiral Thrawn to Darth Maul on the speeder bike to Yuuuhzan Vong. This set covers everything and has great rares. It normally retails at 19.99 so ebay is the only way to go on this set.
