These lenses produce sharp images, but the distortion at 18mm is quite signifcant. Autofocus is slow, but if you are not shooting super fast subjects, you can live with it. Overall, very good value for the price.

Could not pass this lens up for the price. Great lens to walk through the city and snap away. Range on the lens is great. Tamron has given this lens a solid feel. And the pictures are great to boot !!! If you find one of these at a great price , do not pass it up, you won't be sorry.

Good price/quality ratio. Ok auto focus. Bit noisy though. Quality of picture is pretty good for a zoom lense.

I would presume that the Tamron would be an excellent lens. I own a Quantaray that takes fabulous pictures on a Sony A65. The Tamron was purchased used and it will not focus sharply at any setting so I'm having to send it out for repairs. It may have been dropped or something. I would not let my experience stop you from buying a NEW Tamron lens. I did quite a bit of research prior to buying this lens and had decided that the Tamron was a good buy...unfortunately buying "used" puts you into another risk category.
