I am sure it meets a good number of golfers desires for the aesthetics and feel, just not my cup of tea. The profile of the Burner with the right shaft in in is what I am hitting.I really did not want to keep re-shaft this tour burner driver to try and find the right combo. I have to do with all my clubs to try and get it where I wanted it, but I always try and pick the right head that will give me the confidence level we are all looking for.I will continue to play around with driver heads from stock to tour van issue.I guess at 48 and an average drive of 290-310 I should be content. Taylor Made has never let me down as far as their heads go, and like I mentioned, this is simply a "I have a do not like looking down at this head issue". I will add this now as I am sure a response from another purchase I made via eBay will be coming soon. I bought a set of used Mizuno MP-57 (3 Balls Golf) and re-shafted them with True Temper black gold frequency match shafts for me,assume combo. These irons after only hitting them a few times are animals.I was with my teacher today and was hitting the 7 iron 180 yards with a very comfortable swing 80% maybe. BgRead full review
I bought this Driver as it had good reviews in the golfing community and as I had not played golf for about 8 years. I needed a new driver to try, the price was right and I found that I was getting on average 30 yards (25M) extra distance with it (230M-250M). It was also very easy to line up drives with as the Head of the driver sits square to the line by itself which I found excellent. I have hit drives with my old driver and a couple of demo drivers from my clubs Pro shop, but this driver was the best. I will probably upgrade to the newer version in about 6 months when I have played enough golf to warrant the extra cost. I found that you have to make sure you are using the right kind of ball to get the best results though ie; Titeliest NXT Tour seemed to be the best fit the ProV1 was a bit harder to hit as I don't have the club head speed thats to say not over 100mph.Read full review
I bought this driver casue I was just starting to get a bit more serious about golf and wanted to update so of my older hand me down clubs that I have had for the last 4 years. I have always been a fan of Taylormade and after reading the reviews for the drive and the cost I thought that this would be a good choice. Though this is not the further hitting driver I have ever owned I will say that it was a very easy to hit and as well as very consistant. I found myself not hooking or slicing shot like I typically would do with other drivers I have used in the past.
Fantastice trajectory. Shaft is 60 gram which makes the club seem heavy. I would recommend switching out the factory shaft. This club will give you immediate feedback with your mishits due to swing plain and squaring of the club. It takes some getting used to and is less forgiving than my titleist 905. I plan on playing with the burner this season once i replace the shaft. Hit em long, straight and tight all.
I had a golfing buddy of mine let me use one of these babies when my driver broke on the course. I really liked the feel of it. I found a good used one on Ebay and have had it for about a month. Played a couple rounds with it and been to the range a few times. Once you get the feel for it, this club is easy to hit. I even found myself being able to work the ball left or right with some success.
