Synopsis
"Relentlessly suspenseful...A hair-raising experience." THE PITTSBURGH PRESS The United States government stands warned that sterilization procedures for returning space probes may be inadequate to guarantee uncontaminated re-entry to the atmosphere. When a probe satellite falls to the earth two years later, and lands in a desolate area of northeastern Arizona, the bodies that lie heaped and flung across the ground, have faces locked in frozen surprise. The terror has begun....

This was a paperback/softcover 29 year old book I purchased in very good condition as described. However it was delivered in a plain white plastic envelope. They should have at least used a bubble pack lined shipping envelope for protection of the item inside. They should re-think their shipping & packaging strategies, especially with much much older delicate items. Other wise no problems whatsoever with seller. Recommended seller. A+

  • Quick and Captivating Read

The book follows what protocol would be followed by the united states in the event of a space viral/bacterial species that infects human. The science is very true to real life even though the book is a fiction. All the techniques from electron microscopes to UV spectroscopy are genuine and Crichton has a rich understanding of scientific endeavors in his time. The plot itself is fantastic and even the unknown obstacles that could come with an unknown strain of infection are incorporated as well as errors made by overlooking information (errors in observation).

  • Andromeda Strain

Great Michael Crichton book. If you are a fan of his writing and books then give this one a try. He has a way of writing novels that could actually happen. Best part, there is a second book (Andromeda Strain Evolution) that I'm looking forward to reading as well.
