A great book for those who want to improve their short game. Granted it is not THE WAY to chip or pitch, but it is the one that is really simple and result-oriented. I have seen others saying the author kept boasting his glorious past, which I do not think to be true. Those saying so must not have paid enough attention to the great contents of this book. Highly recommended.

The content of the book is generally good. But it really lacks in better descriptive words and pictures to accompany those words. The pictures for specific parts of the book are not always next to the written content. I think the editor must have been distracted during this project.

The Art of the Short Game by Stan Utley is a very good read. The short game is arguably the most important part of your game to improve your score. Mr. Utley teaches in his book a subtle and eloquent way to play the short game. We would all love to hit the big dog 300 plus yards but even those who can won't be able to in their later years. A good understanding of the short game and soft and skilled hands can be yours for as long as you can play the game. Give it a read. I think if a video explaining and showing these skills would have accompanied the book, I would have given it a 5 star.
the short game is the key to scoring and Stan Utley has great methods for chipping ,pitching ,and sand play in this book. His teaching style is simple and has made me more consistent . I highly reccomend this book.

A terrific book on simplifying the most challenging part of the golf game. As president of the largest golf club in New York City, my members love the principles in Mr Utleys wonderful book. If you are a golfer this is a must read
