I have lost 13 pounds in about 6 weeks. Had a Dr appointment yesterday and he was amazed that my A1C has come down from 7.4 to 6.2 in just a few weeks. All lab work was in normal range and my blood pressure was 120/70. I am sold on these 2 books, and will definitely recommend them to anyone that is interested in improving (decreasing) their diabetes issues. A good beginning but some omissions
There were some good smoothie and frittata recipes. The index was not very good. I get the blood/sugar emphasis, but the elimination of dairy and gluten as well is a bit fuzzy, although then I see you can phase them back if own body doesn't react. Still, some of the explanation seems to vary with other 21 day detox stuff of Hyman's. Did lose some weight without being hungry however, so good that way.

Esoteric ingredients in many recipes
Since we're not in a large city, many of the ingredients used in the recipes were not found locally and had to be ordered online, some quite costly. This may be a great detox, however it did not fit our budget.
