This was 1 of the 1st books I bought after my child was diagnosed by an OT with Sensory Processing Disorder. I immediately started using the techniques from the book and saw eye-openeing results! The ideas are very easy to do and directly help your child in his or her area of sensory need. I would recommend this book to everybody with an "out-of-sync" child. It truly helps them to get back INTO sync!
My son is a "Sensory Seeker" and I have a hard time fulfilling his needs. This book has a ton of activities that help with sensory disorders. Some of the activities require planning, some are easy. A great example: Having your child poke all of the letter 'O's out of an old magazine page with a toothpick. It's great when you have a wiggle worm that needs something to calm him down. It obviously needs to be supervised, but it's a great activity for the doctors office or other waiting area. The book is set up great; it's easy to find what you're looking for.
I can't wait to read it and learn more about sensory processing and help my child.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
I have an autistic grandchild and a therapist recommended to me. I have used it to get ideas to help my grandchild. It has many great ideas. It takes planning to have the appropriate materials to carry out the activities to help the child.
This book has great activities to pull from which is why i needed it for school, if your looking for what activities to do with kids with sensory problems this is the book to buy!!!
