I recently spent a week on holiday in Santa Ponsa - a great resort. Every night I ended up in the Irish Bars - of which there are many - and the best of them all (in my opinion) was Dicey Reilly's! Their resident band was great and soon had customers singing, dancing (on chairs and tables)and jumping about to their terrific, foot tapping music. One of the songs played every night was called 'The Hills of Donegal'. I had heard it before but this time I decided I wanted to get it on CD - but I had no idea who had recorded it. Once I was back home I went onto the internet and came up with the strange result - 'The Rusty Razor - Goats Don't Shave'. WHO??? Not only had I never heard of them I wasn't even sure which was the group name and which was the name of the CD! I checked a few other recordings but finally decided to take a chance on this one. When it arrived I put it on and went straight to 'The Hills of Donegal'. Was I disappointed? Not at all. In fact it was great. After playing it a few times I decided to try the rest of the CD - and again I wasn't disappointed. The whole CD is worth listening to. I've lost track of the number of times I've played it over the past few weeks. Why I've never heard of this group (they are called 'Goats Don't Shave' by the way!) is beyond me and I am well and truly hooked. I'll definately be buying more of their CD's before long and I would recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys Irish/Folk foot tapping music. If you're not sure - as I was - just go for it!!! Like me I'm sure you won't be disappointed! In fact I'm off to play it again!Read full review
