Author Biography
Ben Mitchell is a UK-based freelance animator, illustrator, musician and writer. As a freelancer he has produced animation work for CBeebies, Channel 4, Plymptoons, Somethin' Else, Wonky Films, A Productions, Moving Productions, New Impulse Media and Happy Hour to name a few. As an independent director he has been responsible for three multi-award-winning short animated films - House Guest,Ground Running and The Naughty List - which have been showcased at over a hundred international film and animation festivals including ITFS Stuttgart, Clermont-Ferrand, Bristol Encounters, Monterrey International Film Festival, Annecy Plus, I Castelli Animati and Anima Mundi. He is presently working on his fourth animated short Bullies as well as producing content for Skwigly Animation Magazine and the Skwigly Podcast. Ben's dabblings in independent comics publishing began with the collected anthologies of short story commissions and his cult webcomic Mitchells In England. In 2009 he released the graphic novel adaptation of his first film House Guest which went on to be nationally published after its strong reception. Throat, completed and released in 2012, is his first original, long-form graphic novel story.
