The 909F3 fairway wood is a great performing, great sounding, and great looking club. I like the deeper face of the F3 when using it off the tee. It produces a more boring ball flight than the F2. Which makes it a bit harder to hit off the deck than the F2. Definitely geared toward the better ball striker. Still it gets up off the deck just fine and goes a country mile. Very easy to work the ball with this head. Highly recommended.
I'm a 5 to 7 handicap and have been playing golf for over 20 years. My swing speed with a driver is about 115 MPH. I average 293 yards off the tee. At least that's what comes up on the SkyCaddie when I hit it good. I usually have a few 300+ yard drives on a good day. 3 wood has never been one of my favorite clubs to hit. I've been searching for a 3 wood I can hit for distance but for my game the hybrids are easier to hit and I get just as much distance out of them. My Taylor Made TP Mid Rescue 16* I get 235-265 yards so I really don't need a 3 wood. I'm looking for that club I can hit 250-275 yards of so the search continues. I'll probably end up reshafting my old strong 3 Hawkeye and experimenting with it some more. I'm not positive about the Titleist I bought but the shaft may be a driver shaft. From my experience putting a driver shaft in a 3 wood is a big mistake. Tried that once before. If you ever need to reshaft I'd make sure you get a shaft for fairway woods when the application applies.Read full review
It's incredibly easy to get this club airborne for a 13* wood. I highly recommend this model. Looks great at address, and club head is small enough to be used from medium rough. I'm very happy with this purchase.
My driver carries about 265 at a swing speed of 105. My 909 F3 has a stock Voodoo shaft in a stiff flex. While the club looks, feels, and sounds great, I don't like the ball flight. As the ball takes off it has a tendency to climb with a lot of spin because the shaft flexes too low. If you have a higher swing speed, I would avoid the Voodoo shaft. A shaft with a mid to mid-high bend point would work better. Otherwise, it's a beautiful clubhead.
The 909F3 offers a small head with a deep face that promotes a penetrating, low spinning ball flight. It is an excellent club for anyone that has problems ballooning their fairway woods or just wants a fairway wood with a lower ball flight. The 909F3 is also very workable and setups slightly open.
