I bought this book as it is one I required fo school. For anyone who has no knowledge of the Latin and Greek terms used in medicine, you will after reading this. Very clearly and concisely written with clear illustrations of all body systems. Wach chapter has a series of self-tests at the end of each chapter along with review questions and a very clear and thorough chapter summary. If you are going back to school to become a clinical herbalist (as I have), are involved in nursing, a first year med student, or a pharmacology student, you need this book. You won't even need a Latin dictionary to understand it. I bought my copy used, and the former owner was nice enough to highlight the important points.

i purchased the book to read it before i start my nursing course next year, its VERY informative. although i am 3 editions behind theres not much that changed from the recent ones, just really the diagrams and maybe added 2 sections, but i got it for 14$ and the recent one is selling for around 180$ so i got a pretty good deal, i think everyone should invest in a little older book, its really the same information, maybe one or two editions behind would be good.
Book is fair!

I purchased this for a human physiology class that i am currently taking. i purchased this extremely cheap compared to what the new edition would cost, and the information is probably 99.5% the same. this is a great introduction/review of the fundamentals of human physiology. a person could do so much worse.
