Julia Gruhlich geht der Frage nach, inwiefern die Transnationalisierung von Unternehmen auf der Ebene der Arbeitsorganisation mit den Geschlechterverhaltnissen verknupft ist. Dazu entwickelt sie einen theoretischen Rahmen, der die Erkenntnisse der Geschlechter- und Organisationsforschung mit der praxeologischen Sozialtheorie Pierre Bourdieus verknupft und fuhrt eine empirische Untersuchung in einem deutschen Automobilzulieferunternehmen durch. In der Betriebsfallstudie analysiert sie erstens den Wandel der Karrieren im Management und zweitens die Einbettung betrieblicher Gleichstellungspolitik in die transnationalen Arbeits- und Organisationsstrukturen. Durch die Analyse zeigt sich, wie die Prozesse der organisatorischen und kulturellen Transnationalisierung sich innerhalb von Unternehmen mit nationalstaatlich und traditionell ausgerichteten Geschlechter- und Familienbildern vermischen und Einfluss auf Verschiebungen und Rekonfigurationen der Geschlechterarrangements nehmen.
