Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Ligatures & Caps
This ligature is easily one of the best (in relation to its value), especially for alto, tenor, and bari saxophones. However, I recently ordered one for soprano, and it doesn't fit my Selmer S80 C**! The ligature is waaay too big, the bottom half wont even touch the reed when the ligature is fully screwed in. Who makes a ligature that doesn't fit the Selmer pieces these days? Also, it doesn't fit the Selmer Soloist Super Session F, or my BARI brand .62 mouthpiece (no surprise there, that piece unusually small). I assume the Vandoren mouthpieces are unusually fat/wide, because there is a similar issue with the Optimum ligature. It is too bad, really; I hope one day they make multiple sizes because the M/O is amazing for all of my alto and tenor setups.

This ligature 1), works great - combination of the best of both Vandoren “Master” series as well as their “Optimum” series of ligatures. Locks down reeds nice and tight/snug, no movement or sliding or slipping at all. 2), The one-screw configuration looks great, too, not to mention the “aged gold” matte finish. And 3), at around $50 this ligature is about 1/2 the price of the BG Duo 1-screw ligature which looks and functions almost identically, and it costs less than the Selmer 1-screw ligature as well (and from what I’ve read about those, fits and tightens/secures the reed much better ROI). So having said all that, you cannot go wrong with these M/O ligatures.
